I am reading a book Out of a Far Country by Angela and Christopher Yaun. It is the story of a mother who prayed for her son to come out of homosexuality and drugs. She set up a shower which had never been used in her new house as her prayer closet. While her son was in prison for drug distribution, she began an adding machine tape of thanksgivings for the blessings God sent in the midst of sufferings - the tape is about 6 feet long - a memorial to the faithfulness of God.
I am thinking of keeping the post-its and index cards I remove from my board, marking them as answered, in a box as a memorial of all that God does!
Girl I was thinking the same thing!! About getting an index card file box to put prayer cards in after they are answered and removed from board. A way for me to remember that the Lord does hear our prayers and moves to answesr them!
ReplyDeleteIt is so important to remember his faithfulness. I just read this blog about Stones of Remembrance.
ReplyDeleteJoshua 4:6-7, When the Israelites miraculously crossed the Jordan River, they set up stones to remember God's faithfulness.
"We will use these stones to build a memorial. In the future, your children will ask, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ Then you can tell them.” Joshua 4:6-7(NLT)
"We can also "set up stones of remembrance” symbolizing times in our lives when God gave healing, perseverance, protection or encouragement—times when we were especially aware of God’s faithfulness."
I pray God show each of us how to do this in our homes.
Amen Dee Dee! Love that phrase "stones of remembrance". Remembering the Lord's victories in our lives not only Gives the Lord all praise, glory and honor due him; but also builds our faith to believe God for the future battles in our lives.
